What is TACTIC?

The TACTIC Research Program started in September 2013 and includes 10 Basic Science Projects conducted by 14 Investigators across 10 different institutions, in a trans-agency partnership between the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Defense (DoD).

What is TIC?

Trauma Induced Coagulopathy (TIC) is an acute disturbance in the ability of the body to create clot which occurs after severe traumatic injury. It can result in excessive and ongoing bleeding which can be difficult to stop.

Organizational Structure

TACTIC operates under a multiple-PI leadership plan, with, James Morrissey as the Principal Investigator of the prime contracting site at the University of Michigan and Stephen Wisniewski as Principal Investigator of the Coordinating Center at the University of Pittsburgh.
